Can anyone recomend a real good patent leather basketball shoe? I have been wearing the official choice shoe the past three months but the backing in the shoe came apart and the seams in the shoe are now coming apart also. I have seen the new spot built patent leather shoe and it looks nice. Has anyone tried it out? Any othe quality patent leather shoes I can look into purchasing?

Both patent leather shoes that Honig's sells are very good shoes. The Ref made by Reebok and the Grid XT made by Spot-Bilt. It all depends what is best for you and your feet. I have seen others with the officials choice shoe that have had trouble and they were too narrow for me. Need to find what is right for your feet.

I'm not a patent lover, but if I were going to buy them I'd go with the Ref by Reebock. I still like polishing the shoes up as part of the pre-game ritual. Old habits do die hard!

I thought those were Juulie's shoes. Or were the Padgett's?

Don't like Patent leather

REf shoes are suppose to have a sheen or slight shine not be glossy. Don't like them... Besides Patent leather does not breath, feet sweat more...

I also like The Ref by Reebok. Very good quality and comfortable. I got a pair last season and still have them. And they are still in great condition. I have never had an issue with them making my feet sweat.
That Officials Choice shoe is trash.

i agree with ref-x

i have the ref reebok's and i haven't never had a problem with them, they way they shine and clean up, and they don't make my feet sweat as much as the first patent set i had a couple years ago, seems like they breathe a lot more! Just like anything else, the further along things get, the better made they are!

You also must remember that those were Baylor Bear shoes. Being an SMU Mustang, I could never like them!

New Balance, Spotbilt, Reebock, and Nike all have good shoes. Pick the one that fits your style. I personally use the New Balance. Currently being worn for my fifth season.

No. No one can. Because there aren't any. They all look like plastic. Blech. JMO.
