Please - no flaming the "big guns" phrase.

You're kidding, right?

I am aware you knew that. Everyone else reading it most likely does not know anything about this at all. I just wanted to clarify so someone did not go on and on about what the NF thinks or what the IHSA says. This issue has been examined many times up here (you know this already) and I wanted to head off more questions about this issue.

Peace

No, I am dead serious and JR will back it up.

See what I mean.

We wear black CCA jackets in our Greater Georgia association. But I also own black with NCHSAA emblem when I called in NC that is just sitting in my closet and a blue jacket that I used before they went to black about 5 years ago. No white jackets. Hope I don't have to move again and it turns out to be that Illinois association.

Association membership does not have to do with just where you live in Illinois (As it appears it is in other states. Sorry Camron). You can join any association you like, except the "white jackets." You have to be invited into that association based on their requirements. It does not matter what those requirements are, you just have to be invited. After being invited you cannot be a full member unless fulfill more requirements and the white jacket is a sign that you are a full member. In every other association in Illinois, you join if you can pay the dues.

BTW, CCA jackets are not allowed. Most officials that have been around for any length of time wear a jacket with the IHSA logo on it. You can buy those jackets through Honigs and some other licensed dealer that can sell the official IHSA logo.

Peace

White jackets?

Is this some kind of reffing mafia? Or am I going to be killed just for inquiring?

The present jacket, which is the Sahara jacket that the CCA uses is the $hittiest clothing item I have ever owned. It costs me $45 but probably costs $3 to manufacture. It's a piece of crap.

You think yours are bad, you should see the $hitty CABO jacket we have to wear, and the thing costs us $65.

BTW, it's black if anyone's wondering :p

We wear black zippered jackets with the TASO logo embroidered on them.

My jacket is gold with silver sparkles. All of us in the LBRA wear one.

FYI - that's the Liberace Basketball Referees Assn.

Is that the association with the piano and candelabra logo?

Yes, it is. In fact, most people don't know that Liberace played professional baseball. He still holds the Major League record for the most times being hit in the face with balls. :p

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

I was checking out the following website (BOSS Officials http://www.sdboss.com) after reading the thread about the assualt case. Anyways, I saw where they issue a navy (pre-game) jacket.

The manual states you can wear either navy or black, but you have to match. I would guess black is the preferred color for a pre-game jacket -- as it is in my area.

Does anyone own a navy pre-game jacket and have you ever used it?

One of my local associations used to have a navy jacket, but they also do softball, baseball, volleyball, and football. I would assume the navy jacket looks good with the blue umpire's uniform. The basketball-only association I belong to uses only black. I would hope most people use the black; I'm not sure navy goes with the black pants from a fashion perspective. After all, it's all about looking good out there!

Speaking of fashion, my wife has standing orders: if she ever sees me wearing plaid shorts, black ankle socks and wingtips to shoot me on the spot.

I hope that no coaches in this forum recognize you, or you will be getting a package in the mail containing plaid shorts, black ankle socks and wingtips.

Uh, oh...I did get a couple of packages in the mail today, but it sure looks like my wife's handwriting on the label.
