Just remember that you are where you are until you get where you're going.

If you follow this simple little phrase you will always remember and be able ot explain it when the players and coaches go nutz!

Actually - it's "You are where you were 'till you get where you're going."

Hmmmm...... if you were somewhere that is past tense which means you are somewhere else now, so if you are in the air you're technically still where you are until you land then you might refer to where you were.

I'm sticking with ......you are where you are until you get where you are going.

Yep, same theory.

Same theory, but it's not a back-court violation, it's an oob violation. Same result, but different signal.

Actually, it's the same signal. :)

"Over and back" has the same signal as out of bounds!?!?!?

I use the same signal for a player jumping from OOB and touching the ball that I use for a BC violation. Most other officials that I work with do as well. Then point.

Yep, same signal. :)

I have seen many officials use that signal during that kind of out of bounds violation. I have used the same signal myself.

Peace

Okay, well, with apologies to tomegun, we do things differently here. What's prescribed here is for the official to point to the out of bounds line, and yell, "Out!" or "Out of Bounds!" and then the color of who gets the ball next. I see how the o&b signal could work, but it would be a big adjustment here. I'll follow, but I'm not leading.
