Yes, if the ball was still on a path to go in the basket when it hit Yao's head. Once it falls short of the rim, and below the level of the rim, then if he bounces it off his head and in, it's a 2.

Let's make this interesting....

What happens if time expires just before or just after the ball hits Yao's head....and it goes in?

Viewing this in the context of the conversation, if the try had dipped below the level of the ring, then the try ends when it hits Yao's head. With the try ended, the ball is dead when time expires. Doesn't matter if time expires before or after it hits his head.

If the ball still had a chance to go into the basket and hit his head, the try has not ended and the expiration of time does not make the ball dead. If the shot goes, it's good.
