cford writes "Player has control of the ball. Player jumps in the air and fumbles the ball (player control ends). Player gains control of the ball while in the air (player control begins). **This is the same as if a player caught a pass in the air.**"
Can't say that I understand this one. How is this related to fumble - dribble - fumble vs dribble - fumble - dribble ? |

Well, I'm not an official...and I hesitate to offer my opinion when some heavyweights are involved in this thread....but
in our O.S.F. Men's League (Old, Fat, Slow)when a player leaves the floor with the ball and returns with the ball, and no other player has touched it and the ball has not touched the rim/backboard, we call it a t-r-a-v-e-l. |

I know that most officials call this a travel but that doesn't mean it is. I see a lot of called travels that aren't travels but just look ugly. I am still waiting for the heavyweights to chime in! I'd definitely like to know there opinions on this matter and I'm sure that this has come up before on the forum. |

If they jump hold the ball and land, it's a travel. If they jump shoot and get their own miss, it's nothing. If they jump and lose control of the ball, it's considered a fumble, and it's nothing. |
