...but, as a lowly fan, I will speak my thoughts, as a fan.

If the clock reads 19:59 in the game and there is a foul, it should be called.

If there is :01 left in the game and there is a foul, it should be called.

Sparks got fouled, my friend who was at the game said an official blew his whistle when he shot and was fouled, watched to see if it went in, then did not make the call once it did...

I understand the intent of letting players decide the outcome, but, the Mich. State player decided to contend the shot and fouled him on it...the whistle blew, and there was no call after it went in.

Where is the justice for Chuck Hayes?

The whistle went?

Really?

Anyone else (with TIVO) able to verify this?

I remember seeing one officials hand go up to signal the 3, but don't remember seeing any fists go up.

For the record, I don't think he was fouled. The guy went up, but the contact, I think, was caused just as much by Hayes as by the defender.

Sorry, Tubby, I've got no-call all the way....

None of the officials raised their fists. There was no foul call. He was not fouled. Based on the replay, I would not have overruled the call on the floor that it was a three - and I was pulling for the Spartans.

TubbyRules,

Why was it a foul? Do you have a rule reference to back it up? Was it a foul because you say so? The Kentucky player went up and landed without a problem. If they called that foul, they sure as hell did not call that type of contact during other parts of the game (at least the times I watched).

You lost. It is over. Go away now.

Peace

I wouldn't exactly say he took the time to set up for this shot. It sorta looked like he threw it up, maybe that's why it banged around the rim, because he didn't set up.

There was no foul there, I agree with BlindZebra, it was a 2pt shot, you guys were lucky to get overtime. It was a good game, the officials did an amazing job and all the replies to your post are probably gonna sound like this one so don't get your hopes up.. You might wanna check out the post that warns about fanboys complaining, because that's the cycle this one's gonna follow.

If you think the rules of Physics would prove that every ball that bangs around the rim is due to the shooter getting fouled, then your Physics teacher is dumber than your English teacher - if possible.

my bad guys, i just watch alot of games, and wonder if Sparks had missed it, the call would have been made, and if it was...then, it's a shame it wasn't called when he made it.

I am proud of Tubby and these Cats...i feel horrible for Chuck.

Now go screw UL on Saturday, hehe

Wow, you sure are the expert. I guess we should defer to your expertise considering you "watch" basketball games.

Peace
