This thread points out exactly what is wrong with coaches rating officials. Thank goodness that doesn't happen in my area. The only thing coaches here can do is scratch 2 officials -- and this is done before the season starts.

Follow-up to Granting T.O. Fed Rules
Just wanted to let you know that I responded to the Michigan High School Athletic Association and wrote a letter of protest pointing out the incorrectness of the coaches reasoning for his evaluation. This is the response that I received from Mr. Mark Uyl, Supervisor of Officials.
"The MHSAA has received your written response to the "5" rating given to you by "High School." "The MHSAA annually reviews all "5" ratings, along with any correspondence from the official, during the month of May. Your situation will be reviewed at that time, and the rating summary form mailed to you in July will provide the final dispensation of this situation." "Thanks again for your correspondence. We appreciate all of your efforts as a MHSAA registered game official." I really didn't know that the MHSAA annually reviews these ratings.

Bob, The MHSAA always review's 5's. Most of them are pretty ridiculous (IMHO). The one you got seems especially silly. Barb

First of all, Mick, thank you for the advice but I don't have a problem posting that mail. I trust Mr. Uyl and I trust the reviewers that they will remove the bad rating. I am moving on and I don't think that this issue needs to be kept alive.
