7&8th girls...coach asked if it was okay to paint [insert shcool mascot here] on the face of her players. My response was that it was not allowed, however, I can't find it in the rules. Anyone?

Only in JH games.

Crazy

There might not be a rule specifically covering that, but that really is not the point. Face paint is not to help players play the game of basketball and it could get on the ball, other players or the surface of the court. I would not allow that under any circumstances. I would use the "God" rule and not allow it.

Peace

Face paint is the symbol of a team with:
  • The philospohy of lets have fun.
  • The reality of an inept coaching staff.

I guess it could be (if you want to get that technical). But I have not seen any players wear makeup during games, especially at that age. But if any substance is coming off on players and the ball, I am going to have them remove it. Now I am sure this post is about that think, oil based substance that is used by many fans sitting in the stands.

    Peace

    Dan,

You gave me one more reason not to work girl's basketball.

    Note to self:

    At Desk

Reason number #202--Have to worry about facepaint in games.

    Paper Work

Yea, in a way, it is. And everyone around here is thankful that it's legal. I am not pleasant to be around when I don't have mine!

    Actually..
A few years back, BV game, sub comes in.
We were lining up for a FT, and I noticed that this sub had on both mascara and eye liner.
Another member of his team told me that he was really "into the Prince look". First and last time I have seen that!
    Yikes!

I am not getting into this discussion except to say that because females have a broader pelvic area, they have a lower center of mass than a male of the same height and mass.
