Question

A1's shot is partially deflected by B1. Ball hits rim then bounces high enough to contact support structure above/behind backboard. A1's ball for a throw-in.

How is the shot clock reset in this sitch?

Thanks!

That's what I thought..... I guess I was thinking about a similar sitch but with a wild defensive deflection of a pass.

A1 passs the ball which is then deflected by B1 so that the ball strikes the rim and goes out of bounds. Is this a shot clock reset?

No, only reset as a result of a field goal attempt.
