Here is part of the NCAA rule about Indirect Technical fouls for pre-game dunking. Is it the same for High School (Fed Rules)?

Thanks !

Section 4. Penalty for Indirect Technical Fouls

b. (Men) When the indirect technical foul is for dunking before the game or during intermission, the next period shall begin with two free throws awarded to the offended team. Play shall resume with a jump ball if the indirect technical foul occurred during pregame warm-up or before an extra period or with an alternating-possession throw-in if the indirect technical foul occurred at halftime.
Art. 2. Indirect technical fouls shall count neither toward a playerÂ’s five
fouls for disqualification nor toward the team-foul total.

Dunking or attempting to dunk during pre-game when the officials have their authority ( I see this a lot in girls 3rd grade rec) is a direct technical on the player and an indirect on the head coach. For each attempt the opposing team will get two free throws to start the game and also possession.

The technicals count against the five fouls for DQ on the player and the indirect counts toward the indirect total for the coach, who is also seatbelted for the game. The directs count toward the team foul total for the first half.

In NF, there is no such foul as an indirect technical on a player.

See NFHS 10-3-4

This is a direct technical on the player involved and an indirect technical on the head coach. It counts towards both the players 5 total/2 technical foul limit and the head coach's 3 indirect T limit. If pregame or before overtime, opponent gets two shots & the ball - offending team gets the arrow. If at halftime, opponent gets two shots & the ball - and the way I read it the arrow remains as-is (unchanged).

The NCAA's "indirect technical foul" -- which results in two shots for the offended team, but does not count toward a player's 5 fouls for DQ or toward the team fouls -- does not exist in FED rules.

All technical fouls in FED are direct and result in two FTs for the offended team plus possession of the ball (unless double or simultaneous technicals). In FED rules, the only time an indirect T is charged is when a team member other than a player is charged with a direct T. In that case, an indirect T is charged to the head coach, but does not result in any additional FTs.
