1. See the player in the lane.

2. Watch more crucial stuff.

3. Still see them there so, "Get out of the lane."

4. Watch more crucial stuff.

5. Still there, "CLEAR IT!"

6. Whistle. [/B][/QUOTE]

That's how I count - to 6.

Exactly right thumpferee!

I've done about 40 games this year and haven't called one 3-second violation yet. It's too easy to prevent and too many other things are going on that are more important to look for.

Just my 0.02. If the player ignores my warnings though I'll blow it. I think there are a lot of parents that have stop watches on that every time down the floor. I love ignoring their requests!

First post here btw, I love this place. Great learning tool here! Thanks to all of you that provide so much useful information.

6th grade boys last night (better level of ball than I was expecting it to be). In the spirit of cleaning up stuff early, I ding V1 for 3 seconds after he refuses to listen to me. This is in the first minute. In the last minute of the game, H coach is pleading, "Will you please just give me one 3 seconds call?" "Coach, I gave you one 10 seconds into the game." "Okay, now will you give me one in the second half. Just one, that's all I'm asking."
