In the coaches' conference before a game one time, I said that coaches needed to remind their players to keep hands off when guarding -- it was the year that handchecking was a POE and we were supposed to specifically mention it in our conference. Coach said, "That's not right -- tagging has never been illegal." I said, "It's in the rule book, especially Rule 10, Section 6." He said, "Oh, the rule book. I never read the rule book."
Later, he's yelling about something he thinks is illegal that we no-called, and as I went past on trail I said, "Coach, let's just remember who's read the rule book and who hasn't." Not another word.
