I have no time for this, from a coach who's up by a bunch. Tell him once, nicely, to zip it - next time WHACK his sorry a**.

I do a lot of youth basketball and have run across many coaches who want every travel called on the other team. When I get a chance I'll explain that if we called every travel at that level we'd never get the ball down the court. If they continue or claim that the kids need to learn, I'll offer to call all the travels that their team commits - that always ends it!

very similar situation last night, gave my partner the heads up, gave the coach a courtesy chat to make sure his complaints were addressed, he chose to make a spectacle, he along with the whole gym saw the stop sign (he also heard it), next trip down he wanted some more and BANG! Wow, the game got so much better. Did I tell you that the game got soooo much better? If I didn't tell you, the game got so much better. Sometimes I wonder why I wait if I know that the game will get better. It's like you think the coach will eventually come around and become civilized or something.

Sometimes coaches want that first T for some reason or another. I wonder if they realize they'll be sitting the rest of the game? I guess they know afterwards.

This is probably the main reason I'd like to see the coaches box used in boys basketball here in Iowa.
