![]() Last night, G/B JV games. During the girls game, we've got two varsity players working at the table. Junker was having a hard time getting them to pay attention to his reporting (I kept seeing him standing there staring at the table for a few seconds). Apparently, there were a few phone calls that were more important to them, so he went over and told them to get off of the phone. One of them responded with, "Well you called a foul on a girl who was lying on the floor." Now, there are several possible responses to this. A. We could sit down with the girls and explain the meaning of "non-sequiter." B. We could explain to them the responsibilities of running the table and the expected impartiality that must be exhibited. C. We could simply have them replaced. D. We could move on and discuss it with game management later. Junker chose D, but we had two boys doing the table for the boys' game, and their coach assured us it wouldn't happen with his kids. It didn't.

Last night Snaqwells and I had a table manned by varsity players for a JV game. Between the 3rd and 4th our timekeeper was on her phone. I asked her to hang up, she continued to talk. I told her to hang up, she finished her conversation and finally hung up. Her partner at the table on the book told me that they were capable of talking on the phone and knowing that its not a foul when a girl is laying on the floor (in reference to a call I had to make on a loose ball). Trigger and I have known each other since college and talked about it on my way home last night.
