NCAA(men) Ball is in the air by A1 at their own basket, B1 trying to get around a screen or whatever, excessively swings his arms/elbows, i'm reading the book as: If the basket goes in, we ignore the violation even after we have blown the whistle for it???? and if the basket doesn't go, then we just give Team A the ball back for the violation??
why would we ignore a violation just because the ball went in, if the basket goes we should still give them the ball back for a violation, otherwise they are not penalized by the violation.... but if that's what the book says, that is what we have to do!!!!!

Well, you obviously saw the AR, b/c that is exactly what it says to do. However, don't forget that you still have the option of assessing a technical foul if you believe that there was an intent to strike an opponent.

yes i guess if you wanted to get the violation penalized you would have to call the "T"...i think if you let it go just as a violation you would be asking for more of those if you don't stop it when it first happens!!
