Huddle During Free Throw

Girls MS game, coach A had been problematic the entire game and had already received a T for being so. B1 is attempting a free throw, and coach A calls his entire team over to the bench area, despite being told he needed players on the lane. Rather than continue warning, I have my partner administer the free throws, and call a violation if B1 missed the shot. Clearly coach A was attempting to gain an advantage by talking to his team, and in my opinion continually warning without penalty would have accomplished nothing. How would you have handled this situation?

If B1 is shooting the free throws for the technical foul charged to Coach A, why would there be any players along the free throw lane?
