RE: re: YOU'RE IN CHARGE

That's not the point. The point is, you have to let him know that you are the main authority. Don't be a pushover - stand your ground, give him a warning, and if he keeps up, give him the boot.

No, I'm afraid that is the point. We don't warn coaches for something they haven't done yet. For all we know, this coach may not even remember Juulie. If he doesn't, then she has created a problem that otherwise wouldn't exist. If and when he becomes a problem, then you take care of business.

Just because you're the referee doesn't make you the Almighty. In a lot of places, all it takes is a phone call of a letter and an official can no longer work at a school. Coaches and athletic directors are in positions of authroity as well. That's why we have to work together.

Yes, this is the exact point and I am working with myself to get here. I feel a little like I used to feel the morning after a bad arguement with my teen-age daughter. What she said last night may have no bearing on how she feels today, and I need to deal with my own feelings before I see her again, and rise above resentment, usspicion and hostility. Sounds great in words... hope I can get there.

That't the key! Treat coaches as if they are just another
mad-at-the-world-no-one-understands-me teenager! Thanks!

Go in with lots of confidence, and see what the game gives you. If the coach acts up again, get rid of him. Ask site director for escort to your car!!!
