Just for the record, I use a very low-tech method to keep track of the work I do. It's called a DateBook, and it has a darlin' li'l picture of kittens on the front, with 25 pages, and it folds into the size of a check book. I write the location, level, time and number of games, and sometimes assignor, and then if I got paid or not. I use my PBOA school list to calculate mileage. When tax time comes around, I use my handy-dandy pocket calculator to add up all the money amounts, and the mileages, and write them directly onto my draft tax return -- the paper version. Add up all the expenses for which Ive thrown the receipts into a basket, and the whole Schedule C takes about 20 minutes. This is far less time than it would take me just to learn to use Excel, or something else, and I use no electricity, and I can do the work anywhere, not just in my basement where my computer is. And it's accurate, flexible, and convenient. And cheap. And I haven't been audited yet, so I'm obviously not triggering any red flags.
