Zeke, what model? I'm considering the 601, but nobody has them around here.

I saw some in Rack Room yesterday when we were getting our daughters shoes. To me any model will do. You may not be able to get the latest one. As you have found out. If you have some time you can go to new balance web site and order direct. Good luck.

I don't have a pair, but according to this website,
http://www.shoebuy.com/sb/s.jsp?Styl...-_-none-_-none

this pair of shoes is described as this:

" Product Description (Men's New Balance BB888)

A supportive midcut basketball shoe for the player who demands long wearing comfort. ABZORB® forefoot and insert gives exceptional shock absorption. ABZORB®EX heel provides superior cushioning and stability. The Stability Web® gives superior support in the midfoot while reducing the overall weight. The herringbone outsole pattern allows for increased traction for lateral motion. The ETC® insert reduces friction, heat build up and blisters. "

I hope this will help.

This isn't about shoes ... it's about brandan. The REAL brandan. Anyone heard from him lately or know where he ended up and how he's doing?

Especially since the NFL returns to New Orleans tonight. It's the perfect time to touch base with him.

Agreed. I believe he checked in a few weeks ago stating he's been really busy with school, etc. Hopefully he'll get back in here more often!

I've been wearing New Balance cross trainers for five years. Current shoe is the 609, but I have a new pair of 620 that I bought a year ago on sale that I will be wearing this season.

They run true-to-size and come in wide widths (2E and 4E). New Balance seems to have five models of cross trainers available in all black (601, 608, 609, 620 & 621)

I get mine by mail order from shoebuy.com. Since the size is true, once you know your size, the next pair will fit just as well.

Chuck can get the same deal - I plan to be ordering this deal too. I have to PM you to see if you're in the same conference but you have PM disabled.
