When I rehabbed my knee my dr told me the knee brace you buy at the pharmacy is useless.

Maybe your doctor hasn't seen the new ones on the market.
Might be.

But he repaired my ACL to almost full range of motion so I'm inclined to trust him.

Dan, in your medical case, your physician felt a brace would be useless. And you are absolutely correct in listening to what your doctor tells you. I am not disputing that.

What I am saying is the brace has helped me, in my particular case, in the early stages of the season due to my age (58) and history of soreness around the knees. Other that that I could run the marathon! I was just trying to be helpful to rainmaker in the event her symptoms were similar to mine.

Peace and smile (a little more).

Traveller, if you don't want to type in your sig lines each time, you can just put them in in your profile, and they appear automatically. The only bad thing is that when you change your profile sig line, it changes in all your posts, so you have no record of past ones.

Thanks Julie, but I have a database of quotations from books I've read over the years. Louis Nizer was one of them.

No complaints. Some of us techno-cripples just don't understand the basics. I didn't know if that would be you.

BTW, who is Louis Nizer?

Oh, wait, that's kind of off-topic. If you don't want to take the risk of getting editted, you can e-mail me privately. Also, any Jane Austen in your database?

besides stretching after a long workout, I've always used Endurox R4 -- it's a powder that you mix with water; I've found it greatly reduces muscle soreness and helps my legs recover quicker. It comes in a few different flavors; unfortunately,(?) none that taste like a brownpop
