But he repaired my ACL to almost full range of motion so I'm inclined to trust him.

Dan, in your medical case, your physician felt a brace would be useless. And you are absolutely correct in listening to what your doctor tells you. I am not disputing that.

What I am saying is the brace has helped me, in my particular case, in the early stages of the season due to my age (58) and history of soreness around the knees. Other that that I could run the marathon! I was just trying to be helpful to rainmaker in the event her symptoms were similar to mine.
