Question

Hey I was just wondering if any of you know what it means when people say "And one" during a game. Thanks.
Sincerely,

In the games I work, it means they are just about to be called for a technical foul.

Talking

It means different things at different times. Some common meanings are:

* I'm too cool to follow my mediocre shot with anything but my mouth
* I'm too lazy to bust my hump and get back on D, so I'll ask the referee to stop the game for my pathetic self
* I'm too wimpy to play through that little bit of contact and deserve to be doled out a foul shot
* I have no reason for missing such a wide open shot, and I know the coach will chew my behind off, so I'll lamely attempt to blame my own poor play on the defense
* Don't you KNOW WHO I AM? Come on, ref! All my peers in the NBA get that call every night! Why won't you give me that call?

Have I missed any?

Because you're a benchwarmer for a sub-.500 DII team, that's why . . .

Yea, you forgot. "My son/daughter never misses a shot unless there's a foul, but apparently you aren't competent enough to understand that!"
