And like the players, every official is different, especially in temperament (see Ted Valentine and Rick Barnes in the tire-fire end of the Texas-Xavier game).

Just as an aside, Ray Ratto is (was) himself a basketball official who worked at the JC level in this area at least (I've heard some stories of his games from my mentor).
