Anybody see the end of the Purdue-Illinois game? Purdue scored with 9 seconds to go in OT and tied the score. Illinois in bounded the ball and Dee Brown threw a long pass to Roger Powell who had gotten behind the defense. He shot the layup. The ball hit the backboard and was coming down. A Purdue player sprinted over and blocked the ball. Illinois rebounded and put the ball back in for the winning bucket. For those who saw it, wasn't it goaltending on the first shot? It certainly was coming down after it hit the board. It would be hard to justify that a layup that hit the board would not have some chance of going in. I thought it was goaltending the first time and the fourth time I saw it. Any comments?

O' BABY What a game!

I too thought at first it was goal tending untill I saw the replay. The ball hit the glass, came down, hit the rim, and was on its way back up when it was hit by the Purdue player. BUT how about the foul on the put back! Shooter got hammered in the face big time.
