I had a situation that I was thinking of and was not quite sure of how to handle it.
Team A has the ball, A1 takes a 12 foot jumper in my partners primary, B1 gets a good wack on his elbow; TWEET! At the same time I am observing very rough play in the post and whistle a double foul after seeing both players grab at each other. For times sake I will just say that A1's shot doesn't fall. What do we have? What if the shot did fall, or it wasn't a shooting foul, or if both teams were in the bonus? Thanks, I look forward to some insightful responses! |

You and your partner need to get together and decided which action happened first... the action you whistled or the action your partner whistled. That isn't negotiable... you have to decide which came first.
If your action happened first, the ball was dead instantly and the try is nullified. You have your double foul call which results in an AP throw-in at the spot nearest your foul. If your partner's action happened first, then you will administer the fouls in order. A1 will shoot two free throws with the lane cleared followed by your double foul which will again result in an AP throw-in at the spot nearest your foul. Z |

Zebraman,
While I understand that is the easiest way to get out of the situation, what if the extra contact is so severe that it cannot be ignored. The "book" does allow for a fouls to occur at or aprox the same time. Why cant you have 2 calls here depending on the severity of the fouls? |
