I don't really care all that much about Rose, but I'll just say this from an "analysis" perspective. It was stupid to admit to it. The rules for the HOF are explicit: if you bet on baseball, you don't get in ever, period, end of story. So how does admitting that you did it bring you any closer to getting in? Almost as dumb as accepting Giamotti's "deal" in the first place.

You guys are all wrong. Pete Rose was one of the best baseball players of all time. We gave Strawberry and Gooden many chances back into baseball. They did drugs. All Rose did was bet on sports. I think baseball and the world should give him his second chance.

Using drugs does not bring the prospects of cheating into the game that gambling does. No matter what he says, there will always that shadow. Did he do anything to effect the result of a game that he bet on? |

I think all you who say the other bad charecters in the game hurt themselves are right.Rose went to the core of the game and messed with its integrity.I agree with Tommy Lasorda who said if we let Pete in we have to go back and let shoeless Joe jackson in and look at the rest of the Blacksox.Don't let him in.
