Last night partner (Referee) is checking book prior to 10 min. mark. Discovers visting coach has not designated starters. He can't find coach in order to get info. He then instructs timer to stop clock which is now at 10:27. Timer does so and a min. or two later he is able to locate coach and get info into book. Clock is started.
Good game management or not? |

When do you guys get captains together? I do it at 3:00 so we can get captains then go straight to coaches. Well, now that I think of it I don't have a set time because I've done it as soon as I hit the floor and I've done it at 5:00. I guess it depends. |

Book @ 11:30 Coaches @ 1:30 Our local teams seem to leave the court around 6:00. If both teams leave, we, too, leave to lose our jackets. mick |

I don't have a problem with starting the game with a T. Its not my fault. Yes, I will do all I can, short of setting aside the rules. I check the book at about 14min. I will try to find the coach. I've only T a team once and it was this year in November. My sup. was there. No problem. Start with 2shots and then Jump ball.

I do book at 12 and change. Captains next and coaches at 2. This really has helped me avoid the 10 min problem.
At the FR and JV level, does anyone care? Unless it's an issue with a missing number from the book, I have a hard time with a T for the book being late for a freshman game. Heck, you are lucky to have someone actually there filling the book out for week night 4:30 games. [Edited by Larks on Jan 5th, 2004 at 09:26 AM] |

Steve, it might've been an NCAA game. In that case, you shoot the T and then resume at the point of interruption, which was right before the jump ball.
