Question

Someone recently asked me a question and I can't come up with a good answer.

According to NFHS rules, if a player is injured or otherwise unable to shoot a free throw, the coach can use any elligible subsitute to shoot the free throws in place of that player. Obviously, this leaves open the possibility of "faking" an injury in order to get a better shooter at the line, but hopefully most coaches are better than that...

Anyway, is there ever a situation where the opposing coach gets to choose the shooter? I thought I remember from my HS playing days that this was the case, but who knows. Did this used to be a rule or is it a rule in college or the NBA?

Thanks!
