Clip from the news this morning showing a basketball game when the CA earthquake started. Camera starts to shake...couple of seconds later trail calls a travel...game suspended.

At the restart, do you "assume" the earthquake may have caused the player to travel and go to the arrow or do you keep the violation and give the other team the ball?

Checked my rule book and can't find any earthquake exception to the Traveling rule.

How would you like to be those officials... in a gym with all kindsa people... jackets at the table... all of your personal belongings in the locker room and all you wanna do is run for your life. I guess that would take the cake on most memorable game dont ya think? I guess I need to add that to my pre-game ;-)

A couple of years ago at the 3A state tournament, 10AM game in the Tacoma Dome we had an earthquake, floor moving, hugh speakers swaying above both courts, stands vibrating. Came close to a stampede but the PA announcers
did a great job of crowd control altho a lot of them bolted for the door. Play was suspended, book people had the sense to record the status of the ball. We resumed play after about 30-45 minutes until the engineer people could check the structural integrety of the building. They said that inside that dome was the safest place we could be. We resumed both the girls and boys games at the point of interruption ( as recorded). Otherwise would have went to the arrow.

I've heard only good things about it. I take it that you like it, too? Worth the $16?
