Since you have to verify the coach is the one requesting the TO, you're (usually) looking at the coach anyway.

Keep looking at him / her and ask as soon as you blow the whistle and announce the TO.

He /She will be looking at you as the TO is called, since they've been trying to get your attention anyway.
