This is a question posted on a coaching forum this a.m. A coach was wondering if there is a requirement (i.e. rule) that says teams must clear the floor and report to the bench at the 1:00 mark before tip-off and at the conclusion of halftime. He stated that he was told by the official that this was a rule. Is this correct?

Yes, he is correct. Teams are not required to clear the floor at the 1:00 horn. It's simply a warning horn. You need to be finished with warmups when time expires. Once the clock reaches 0:00, by rule, you then have one minute to be on the floor, ready to play.

Do you mean "ready to be introduced"?

I don't know about U.P. there, but here in PA, we don't introduce the second-half starters.

No, we try to get that out of the way while there's still time on the clock.

Besides, they know who they are.

I thought both half cases were given.
But even so, the second half introduction was something I always hoped for (but never got) so there was an improved chance the coach would remember my name.

Don't care where you live, they don't introduce the guys that come in the last 30 seconds of a blowout as a starter
