If I remember right, the FED put out an interpretation a few years ago that said that if the tattoos were offensive, obscene, etc., then they had to be covered up. Final decision was the R's. I imagine that that principle is still in effect, but I don't know if you can find it in writing anywhere.

As long as the tatoo isn't vulgar, obscene or offensive, we're told to ignore them.

Some states have specific rules that tattoos aren't allowed.

Real tattoos or the fake, press-on ones, Bob? If remember right, the interp that was issued said that press-on temporary tattoos couldn't be used, no matter what. Anybody else remember this?

Lip color.

November, I worked a 7th grade local year-end tourney and one of the teams had all it's members wearing bright green lipstick.
Their coach asked if it was okay. I permitted it after I asked the opposing coach if she thought the lipstick was offensive.

As you may guess, the lipstickers looked and played like clowns, but I am pretty sure they had fun doing it.

Exclamation

We had a 7th grade boys team in our rec league last year that came to their games all wearing different designs of socks. They (the socks) were all knee-high in bright colored patterns. It was really funny.

Doesn't Chuck get mad if you ignore him?

And just what is it about TPS2859 that you find so offensive?

Most importantly focus on the start of the game and try not to dig yourself into trouble with the coaches and players. If all tattos are not obscene or offensive then move on quietly and toss the ball.
