Question

Half-court set. Really agressive guard trying to attack the basket. Good solid D as he drives down the right side just outside the lane. Decides to change direction by dribbling behind back. As he's changing direction (way too fast), begins to lose balance along with the ball and collides with two help defenders moving towards him. All three fall to the floor.

No-call and play on? Foul on D? PC Foul on O? Why?

I know you can't really answer without seeing the actual play, but what do you look for in this situation?

Like you said it is difficult without seeing the play...

My first inclination is towards a no call...
Sometimes crashes happen and it is nothing.

What was the help defense doing? had they got to their spots first and not closing? (probably not) So not legal guarding position so they have culpability here

Offense out of control? I hate bailing out an out of control dribbler.
Dribbler is responsible too...

Was is serious enough that it had to be called?

Other thing in a play like this the offender usually does something stupid.. Panics and carries the ball, grabs the ball and falls down, if the picked up the ball they slide theyre feet..Whistle here may be for a violation...

No Call, it's accidential.

Accidental, or incidental? There are plenty of times where you have to call a foul on something that's accidental. In other words, just because a foul wasn't intentional, doesn't mean it isn't a foul.

With a player driving to the basket, I'm looking for a weak side defensive player to slide over to stop the drive. I look for the defender getting legal guarding position, then I look to make sure that the offensive player is stll under control.

From your description, none of these things happened. It sounds like a no-call to me.
