Rule 10 Fouls and Penalities
This section were PENALTY says if both teams violate. Penalties are offset, no free throws and game with start with a jump.
My question is what happpens if only one team violates? Is it one free throw, games begins with jump and coach does not loose coaching box. change of designated starter, adding a name to the member list , asking scorer to change a team member or players number in the book. It might help if you are specific. For example, dunking before the game is no longer tied to the coach. Administrative book, technical fouls do not go towards the coach either. But all NF games are 2 FTs for the technical foul, never 1. Different than college, where I can assume you are getting this somewhat mixed up.
Peace

Never Say Always, Never Say Never ...
... except for about forty years ago, when it was always, often, or sometimes only one free throw for a technical foul.
Not sure if it was for all technical fouls, or some technical fouls? Mark T. DeNucci, Sr. will have to climb up the stairs to his very cold attic library to answer that.

Blast From The Past ...
Quote:
Before the mid-1980s a technical foul penalty was one free throw (plus the ball). During the 1986–87 season the NFHS changed the penalty to two free throws (plus the ball). This was done to increase deterrence for unsportsmanlike behavior, align penalties more consistently across foul types, and improve game control for officials. Since then, all technical fouls (player, coach, bench, team, administrative) have been two free throws and the ball, and that has remained consistent through today.

Rule 10-1, art 1 and art 2
change of designated starter, adding a name to the member list , asking scorer to change a team member or players number in the book. if one team violates, it is an administrative tech, 2 shots and the games begins with a jump or the other team gets the ball.? |

For NCAA there is still a jump ball following the FTs. |
