Not trying to be funny, but every supervisor has a boss. It might have been that they did not want him to reveal everything about the call. Calm the freak down. There was probably internal conversations with the calling official and the conference for what was called or how things could have been handled.

Whatever the reason for the call, they should make it public IF they are commenting on it. And when a mistake is made, it is far better to level with the public. We have enough trouble in this country with facts and alternative facts, etc. As you likely know, the NBA has a report for every game, or maybe it is just during the playoffs, where they will assess key calls in the last couple minutes of every game, and they tell the truth.
