2021-22 NCAA-Men's Video

So the NCAA-Men's committee basically made every spin move legal because it is "extremely difficult" to determine when the dribble ended.

They are also making step-back jumpers and jump-stops off one foot legal as long as the feet land at "nearly the same time".

Why don't they just come out and give ballhandlers a "zero step" instead of this nonsense that officials can't see plays correctly?

I really do not know. Heard about this and it is silly. I have not seen the video yet, but this was discussed in camp this summer.

Peace

I understand what they are trying to in regards to "benefit of the doubt" on quick, difficult to see plays, but there are some examples where it is very clear when the dribble ended.

Yep. It's just disappointing the reason they are giving.

They could have just made it a POE....LOL

I don’t think the NCAA makes this videos public until after the last D1 meeting (which was today, I believe).

And yes, it is silly and another example of the NCAA basically admitting the NBA is right, but refusing to change the actual rule just because it’s the NBA.

For the record, FED should be doing the same thing.

You are right, they don't make them available. The last meeting was tonight and they only allowed D1 officials to view them at this point. Everyone else will get an opportunity to see them sometime soon. Also, supervisors at all levels had access to them as well.

Peace

Step backs / Spin moves

Yes I was in on the Zoom Clinic yesterday and it seems as though if it "close", we are being instructed not to call travel on these plays. Will an "And1" game break out or will every D1 player now attempt to be James Harden, I'm not really sure but that was the directive.

Anyone else on yesterday that got a different vibe ???

Dude, thanks for posting. Been trying to get a hold of these for weeks.

And the traveling part is so damn silly. I cannot believe that is what they came up with. Heard that they were kind of going to do this during the summer. One D1 assignor said that they were going to say "Don't call it unless it is egregious." Well, that is pretty much what happened. All I know is he did not like it when he said it.

Peace
