Headbands
NFHS Casebook 3.5.4, Sit. B (c) states that it is illegal to wear rubber or elastic bands around the head that match the predominant color of the jersey. Apparently, because they do not comply with the headband rule. However, the definition of a headband in Rule 3-5-4.b is “any item that goes around the entire head. It must be a circular design without extensions. . . it must be worn on the forehead/crown, it must be nonabrasive and unadorned, and it must be no more than 3 inches wide.” So what is wrong with rubber or elastic bands?
Thanks.
