This is so disappointing. I have officiated in some pretty rowdy gyms and the fans were upset about a block/charge call going against the home team---I actually made the call. Ohh man, I heard things like: "somebody get him the rule book", "get some eyeglasses", and one that struck me as quite profoundly "refs not supposed to bet on games". However, compared to what your columnist has mentioned over in New Mexico---makes the comments I recieved sound like "pillow talk". It's so sad what the young official had to go thru, small wonder that child didn't need trauma therapy. So sad.
