For the record, football is still going on in Illinois. This weekend will be the Semifinals so only a handful of teams are even still playing and only involves Boys teams honestly. Practice for each starts about 3 weeks before their first eligible games.
Girls basketball starts this week and Boys starts the week of Thanksgiving. This is a basketball state and I will work a tournament title game on the Saturday after Thanksgiving that the host school will likely be competing in that Championship game or has been in that Championship game the last few years. This is a state that loves football, but basketball is life. Peace
