Was he one of "ours"?

I just finished watching an old episode of "Law & Order" titled "Burn Card". In it, a guy who worked in real estate sales was murdered. It just so happened he also worked part-time as a college basketball official. He was involved in gambling and might have helped some gamblers (to whom he owed money) beat the point spread on his games.

It turns out that there were many other reasons for the shooting. It would have been cool if they showed him working a game, but there wasn't anything like that.
