Senior Night
Girls Varsity, District Game. Two middle of the pack teams. Last game of the regular season for both. Playoffs start next week.
A1, home team, senior, co-captain, hasn't played much of the yr. She is recovering from a torn ACL and her knee is in a heavy brace. She IS starting this game, but hobbling. Both coaches agreed that A2 will win the jump ball and hit it back to A1. A1 will take a few steps, at which time the R will blow the whistle, call the violation, and A1 will leave the game. The event occurs as scripted. B coach congratulates A1 as she leaves the court to a standing ovation. Many tears all around. B1 gets the ball on the violation and the arrow is set so they get the next held ball. The goodness ended there though, as the game really got started. It was a nice moment.
