What is the difference?
When must a player be removed from the bench?
Player comes off the bench to join in a fight. Is he/she disqualified or ejected?
I'm sure there are other examples.

In Fed, there is just disqualification. How it's adjudicated after the game is over is dependent on the school and or state governing body.

Student athletes are never pulled from the bench after a DQ unless there are behavioral reasons and they have to go off with an adult supervisor.

1. Disqualification is a procedural action to not allow someone to play. An ejection is an action by rule that removes you from the game based off of unsporting or conduct.

2. A player is never removed from the bench in high school (unless such organization has a procedure to do so) unless their actions are behavioral in nature that could remove them from the bench. At higher levels, it is part of the rule they must leave the bench or the confines of the contest.

3. Joining a fight is an ejection or leaving the bench is an ejection.

Usually, ejections require a report of some kind to be filed or brought to the attention of the governing body on some level. I do not know anyone that has to file a report for someone fouling out of the game.

South Carolina refers to any foul-related removal from the contest (other than fouling out) as an “ejection” for purposes of writing the report (which is called an “ejection report” regardless of whether a team member or coach is involved. We don’t have a “disqualification report.”

But technically, as others have noted, team members (and non-adult bench personnel) are never “ejected” under NFHS rules. That being said, you can always ask for such an individual to leave the playing confines with an adult if his/her presence is a problem.

“Ejection” means the individual has to leave the playing confines, out of sight and sound. That only applies to adults.
