Getting size 13.5 Zigs now

Finished the season with some pretty beat-up shoes, or at least feeling a bit broken down. So thought I'd pick up some new ones in the off-season.

I liked my patent-leather Zigs so I thought I'd go there again. Unless I need a size 7 or 16 (only slightly exaggerating) it looks so far like I'll be SOL. I wear size 13.5. Most places haven't even listed that, but it's on the tongue of the current pair.

Any recommendations for finding these before the fall/new season? Or is there probably no chance until production kicks back up? I guess I don't absolutely have to have them now. But it would probably help the legs and feet if I did.

I have a pair of brand new size 13 I am selling if you decide to go with 13s.

You should look at air max, asics or any other shoe besides zigs....unless your a skinny person...Ive worn every black shoe made for the past 30 years and zigs, while ive always liked the look, are always at the bottom of the comfort list. If your a kid you can wear anything...If your an older fart try air max.

Actually I'm pretty young and thin (end humblebrag), and the Zigs gave me some pretty big issues last year that kept me from running for about 2 months after the season. I discourage anyone from using them, but if you must use them then do what you have to do. I went to the Brooks Adrenaline all black this year. They're not as sharp looking as the Zigs, but I can run all night in them and still feel pretty fresh at the end of the night. I know nobody is asking for advice, but if you have issues finding a pair of shoes that work for you I can offer this as a pretty avid runner (12 marathons, countless 5k/10k/half marathons) and running coach. Go to a specialized running store and do a treadmill/gate test. Find out what type of shoe you need for your gait, and then find a pair of all blacks that fit that profile. You don't have to buy them there, in fact they're usually overpriced by about 25% over what you can find online. Some places will match prices, some won't. But if you're not taking care of your feet, you're taking years off of your officiating life. I don't mean to sound like a douche by telling you my credentials, but if it helps you to trust me a bit on this I guess it's okay for me to share that.

I basically did this last summer and I cant wear any shoe refereeing with greater then 4 mm toe to heel ratio. And my knees, hips and back feel a huge difference. I am only wearing running shoes for life especially the 500 games a year refereeing that I do at 49. Its made a huge difference. Try it one time and you will never go back. Zig is sexy super high toe to heel offset.

I'm all for buying stuff on the internet and getting good prices but if you're going into a running store and using the expertise and equipment they offer to know what to buy they deserve to be paid for that. Their prices are what they are to cover that expertise and capability. If you can get that advice online, don't go to the store at all and just buy online.

Using local retail as a trial service only to buy elsewhere is a guaranteed way to eliminate such business...then where will you go?

I buy a LOT of stuff online. But, I make it a practice of buying locally if I use a local store to try out what I'm shopping for and I end up buying the item they had...even if it costs a bit more.
