That call is 100% accurate.

The issue (not that we need to care) for coaches, fans, announcers etc. Is if that screen is illegal (and it is) both teams and teams all over the country every night are setting illegal screens that are not being gotten.
This is probably true. Hence why this has become a more and more frequent POE. I think as an officiating community we're gradually getting better at making these calls, though. These screens have become more prevalent as the game has become more oriented to the perimeter. So as the game evolves, so do we.

What's challenging about screens is that when you're trained to referee the defense, sometimes they can surprise you. Hence why sensing the broader picture of what the offense is trying to do is important.

You referee the defense, think like the offense.

Also motion offenses have become more prevalent and that is why were are seeing these screens more often.

Peace

I agree that a foul was committed by the screener but I would say that the foul was more of a holding foul by the screener after the initial contact between the screener and the screenee.

Surprised no one has mentioned the Trail in this clip. As Trail, we have to stay connected to the play. This dude looks like he thinks the play is going long. He should be at the 28' on the sideline refereeing this action, and have primary whistle on this play.
