The issue (not that we need to care) for coaches, fans, announcers etc. Is if that screen is illegal (and it is) both teams and teams all over the country every night are setting illegal screens that are not being gotten.

This is probably true. Hence why this has become a more and more frequent POE. I think as an officiating community we're gradually getting better at making these calls, though. These screens have become more prevalent as the game has become more oriented to the perimeter. So as the game evolves, so do we.
What's challenging about screens is that when you're trained to referee the defense, sometimes they can surprise you. Hence why sensing the broader picture of what the offense is trying to do is important.
