Thunder v Spurs

Late in first quarter Durant fouls Ginobili on the way down on a three point attempt. At seemingly the same time, David West fouls Kanter while ball is in flight. Officials go to the replay, and in replay it appears that the foul on West did occur a bit after Durants foul. Officials end up ruling that West's foul was technical and Ginobli will also have three free throws. Can anyone clear up exactly what the happened here, specifically everything that the referees needed to look for in replay, and what if anything would change if the game was under NFHS rules? If anyone has video that would help too

If I'm not wrong, under NFHS rules, West's foul would have only counted if it was intentional or flagrant, which in this case it was.

West's foul was not flagrant and would be ignored under NFHS rules.

If the ball is in flight, the foul would count anyway.

When a player is fouled in the act of shooting, when does the ball become dead?

What???? The only time flagrant/technical fouls are counted is during a correction.

During a live ball all fouls are counted. Adjudicate both foul penalties and go to the POI. In this case FT's with players on the lanes. Edit, I have no idea what team west/kanter is on.

The ball remains live til shot goes in or certain it is missed. Penalize the fouls in the order they occurred. White gets 3 FS with no one on line. Then penalize the foul committed by shooter's teammate. Out of bounds or bonus FTs on other end with all on lane.

Adam knows what POI is, that's not what he is asking.
