I have nightmares about being in an FYI video as well.

That's been one of my pregame mantras, especially now in the post-season: I don't want to be on you-tube!

I had a travel the first time for dragging his right pivot foot. Since I see a defender lying on the ground afterwards, I'm assuming something was done for him to go to the ground.

So, I'm looking again and I see the punch to the gut.

1) travel

2) I thought white may have been pushed on the rebound from behind so that's what I was watching for.

Missed the punch.

I agree.

It took me a couple views to see the "punch" and then a couple more to decide it was deliberate.

If that isn't caught, I wouldn't be surprised. An official would have to be looking at exactly that from exactly the right spot at exactly the right time. That is why the NCAA has gone to video to review things like this....they are easy to miss even when you do things right.

I'd be in favor of expanding video review in HS games to include potential flagrant or intentional fouls. Might be a bit beyond reach right now, but it would be a better and more productive use of funds than buying shot clocks for every school. The plug-n-play technology already exists for this.

Upon first look - I thought the kid that traveled also accidentally ran over the white player... now I see the gut punch!
The missed travel call and the subsequent missed ejection is all on the C. What is he watching?
Two missed calls right in front of him.

I don't think it's a travel. I don't think he actually gathers the dribble until both feet are down, then he only moves his right foot. Legal, IMO.

I still think the T needs to be watching #20 more closely after he barreled into the lane from his watch.

Slowed it down and see the left foot as his pivot now.
I sticking with the missed punch being on the C not closing down on the weak side and getting closer to these bodies... Particularly on a layup! If this was a 17 ft jumper - I can see him hugging the sideline. There are eight bodies in the paint - he'd have a better view if he just sat on the bench.

1st View: Travel.

2nd view: Closer than I thought, might be legal.

6th view after reading comments: Damnit.

This game was a playoff game apparently in CO.

He was too high during the play for my taste, but he doesn't need to get into the court to see what happened. If he's lower and not yet disengaged, he probably gets this.

well crap

If it is taking us several views to catch it, why is anyone expecting the official on the game to catch it live????

Trying to guess based on the MaxPreps site, I don't think it was a playoff game. I think it was from last week.

But, if I'm right....the two teams in this video will play again on Thursday

I agree.

I had a play a few weeks ago -- a step-back 3 where the shooter got clobbered. I missed the feet and only awarded 2 shot -- a fact I only noticed when I watched the video.

In NCAA D1 basketball, that's a monitor review. In my games, that's a missed call. I regret not getting it right, but I'm not beating myself up over it.
