Mariners vs BlueJays triple play

Mariners turned a triple play vs the Blue Jays | mariners.com

An odd triple play where it appears the umpires did EVERYTHING right...well done.

Confusing Triple Play

From the Huffington Post:

This Triple Play Was So Confusing No One Knew What Was Going On

Is the "safe" signal given by HP (apparently showing "no obstruction, I got nothing here") the recommended signal for this situation? I completely understand him giving it and it probably did alleviate some confusion.

Much better than doing nothing and getting an argument about why obstruction was not called. This makes it clear to all. Obstruction would be an out and dead ball on type 1 in OBS. I think #3 reached out to grab in effort to try to get that call, otherwise no reason to do it.

Add a "THAT'S NOTHING" while you are doing it if you have the chance and if it could be heard.
