Chisox vs Tigers 3rd base umpire (Video)
On a Triple, he was almost standing on 3rd base he was so close...Bizarre. He almost hit the 3rd baseman with his safe call-he was so close.
The idiot announcers applauded him. |

I was watching it live with different idiots announcing. I am trying to remember when I have ever seen a Major League Umpire get right on top of a play like this. Very weird. Last edited by APG; Thu May 01, 2014 at 06:09am. Reason: embed is your friend |

I've watched the umpires at the Reds games and noticed that quite often they are within 3 to 4 feet of the base on close calls.

Much ado about nothing IMO and no he didn't almost hit anybody in the head with his safe. MLB umpires have been working closer to plays the last few years.
When I work 4 man, I can work closer to plays also.
