Chisox vs Tigers 3rd base umpire (Video)

On a Triple, he was almost standing on 3rd base he was so close...Bizarre. He almost hit the 3rd baseman with his safe call-he was so close.

The idiot announcers applauded him.

This discussion could go anywhere without video. Do you want us to look it up or are you going to post it later?

Sometimes the idiot announcers get it right by no fault of their own.

I had to wait until it was posted

De Aza's triple | MLB.com

I was watching it live with different idiots announcing.

I am trying to remember when I have ever seen a Major League Umpire get right on top of a play like this. Very weird.

The umpire is at least 3 ft away from the runner and the Fielder is on the other side of the runner maybe by 3 ft. Might we be exaggerating a tad bit here.

I've watched the umpires at the Reds games and noticed that quite often they are within 3 to 4 feet of the base on close calls.

I have been umpiring so long that it was called Rounders when I started.

Much ado about nothing IMO and no he didn't almost hit anybody in the head with his safe. MLB umpires have been working closer to plays the last few years.

When I work 4 man, I can work closer to plays also.
