Getting back into the fray

I had been out of umpiring since 2008 to pursue other interests, but I have come to miss it alot. So, as of 2013, I will be back on the ball diamond. However, the biggest change will be that I will no longer be affiliated with the Western New York Umpires Association. I am scoping some of the larger house leagues with one in particular (B.O.Y.S. Baseball of Lackawanna). The reason is simple. I don't want to find myself going to East Bumf**k to work a game and then the next night, going to West Jahunga. House leagues have the advantage of one complex, so that's what appeals to me right now.

I obviously don't know anything about B.O.Y.S., but typically house leagues also have the disadvantage of not necessarily putting the best talent out on the field. So if you don't care for the frequent marathon games and blowouts, you may regret your decision.

Regardless, welcome back to the Dark Side.

Welcome back! I returned this spring after many years away and it feels great to get back out there.

After some consideration, it looks like I'll be returning to the WNYUA after all.
